Passages of the Canals

In October 2025, I undertook research examining Venice’s complex and deeply entangled relationship with water. This tapestry depicts Venice’s two major canals, Giudecca and Grand Canal, cutting through the city while being carriers of archive and memory. The iconography and creation process draw inspiration from weaving traditions from my region of Luzon in the northern Philippines.
